Organizing songs by artist
You can organize your Library by artist names. This is useful when you want to see all songs by a specific artist or band at a glance.
Browsing by artist
JustChords provides an Artists view that groups songs by their artist.
- Open the Library and switch to the Artists view.
- Artists are listed in alphabetical order.
- Tap an artist’s name to see all songs associated with that artist.
This makes it easy to build setlists around a particular artist or to find all songs from a given worship leader, band or songwriter.
Merging duplicate artists
Sometimes artists are entered with slightly different spellings (for example “Chris Tomlin” vs. “Chris T.”). To clean up your Library you can merge these entries.
To merge artists:
- Open the Artists view.
- Select the artists you want to consolidate.
- Use the Merge function.
After merging:
- The selected artist entries are combined into one.
- All songs that previously used any of those names now point to the merged artist entry.
This helps keep the artist list tidy and avoids having multiple nearly identical entries.
Artist suggestions when editing songs
When you edit a song in the Song Editor:
- The artist field will suggest existing artist names from your Library as you type.
- You can tap one of these suggestions to reuse an existing artist entry instead of creating a slightly different variant.
Using suggestions and the merge function together helps maintain a consistent, well‑organized artist list across your entire Library.
